Basic Bike Maintenance 101 Class
This basic class will show you how to extend the life of your bike and its parts until you have the time to let us do that yearly tune-up for you. By using easy do it yourself maintenance at home you not only help save your parts, you help us better evaluate your needs when its time to come to the shop. Step by step, we’ll acquaint you with the parts of the bike, and demonstrate the most important areas to pay attention to. We’ll also go over pre and post ride checklists in order to pinpoint problem areas and eliminate troubles on the road or trail.
Basic Maintenance Class: Just the basics! This is an introductory bicycle maintenance and repair class. This class is designed for beginners. We will go over the simple things you might need to know if you are out riding you bike and something happens. This class includes:
- Vocabulary-Learning all of the parts of the bicycle and what they do.
- Key ingredients- Tools and accessories you should have with you when you ride.
- Learning how to change a flat tire.
- Learning how to check up on "the health" of your bicycle's various systems.
- How to lube and maintain your bike.
This class is held in the bike shop at the Kirkwood Alpine Shop, 440 N. Kirkwood Rd. Registration is Free but you must register.
